Kansas City, Missouri – The Oberlin College men's soccer team earned recognition from United Soccer Coaches (USC), receiving the College Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.

"One of our core team tenets is that we will achieve a team GPA of 3.2 every semester. A 3.61 GPA is impressive, and I am so proud of the work our scholar-athletes are doing," Head Coach Blake New said. "Our guys are committed in the classroom and on the field. Their experience at Oberlin is so much more rewarding because of it, and it makes me very happy to see them achieving at such a high level." 

The squad was one of 326 men's programs across the country to receive the honor, which recognizes teams that finished the academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Oberlin was also one of just 175 schools to have both its men's and women's soccer programs honored. In total, United Soccer Coaches recognized 777 collegiate programs, including 326 men's teams and 451 women's teams.

The team will kick off its season on September 1, hosting Otterbein at 7 p.m. on Kahn Track & Shults Field.
