Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin College Head Women's Soccer Coach
Taylor Houck has announced the hiring of
Skyler Huda as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach.
"I'm incredibly excited to welcome Skyler to our program. She brings outstanding energy, passion, and a genuine enthusiasm for developing student-athletes and building relationships," Houck adds. "As a goalkeeper expert, she'll make an immediate impact on an already talented and dynamic goalkeeper group while helping us continue to raise the standard every day. I'm also excited to have someone who shares a passion for recruiting and is eager to bring more exceptional people into our program."
Huda joins Oberlin after serving as the graduate assistant coach at Division II Malone for two years. Working with the goalkeepers, Huda developed weekly periodization and executed training sessions while also assisting in recruiting, scouting, and other operations. Prior to Malone, Huda volunteered with Cleveland State, working with their goalkeepers during the 2024 offseason.
Before her time working with collegiate soccer, Huda worked with Poland Seminary for two years, helping the Bulldogs to a Division II District title in 2022 and coordinating their social media platforms. At the club level, she has served as the lead goalkeeper coach at Kronis Academy since 2020 and as an assistant coach for the Olympic Development Program in Columbus since 2024.
"I am so excited to join Oberlin College and become part of their women's soccer program! I look forward to coaching and learning alongside Taylor and helping our student-athletes grow both on and off the field. I'm also eager to continue developing as a coach, and being part of Oberlin College allows me to make meaningful connections and learn from those around me!" Huda remarks.
A three-time North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Scholar-Athlete, Huda graduated Summa Cum Laude with bachelor's degrees in sport management and educational studies from former conference opponent Hiram in December 2023. Leading the North Coast in total saves for three seasons, the Poland, Ohio native also led the conference in saves per game during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, earning Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Academic All-Ohio Second-Team honors in 2022 and All-NCAC Third-Team laurels in 2023. This past May, Huda completed her MBA from Malone University with a specialization in Social Enterprise, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
"I firmly believe the best coaches are always learning, and I'm excited to learn from Skyler's experience and perspective, challenge each other to keep growing, and continue building a program where our players, our staff, and I get better every day," Houck continues.
