Box Score Oberlin, Ohio – Hosting their first match at the new Oberlin Tennis Complex, the Oberlin College women's tennis team soared past Capital on Monday evening. Their penultimate non-conference match of the season, the Crimson and Gold improve to 9-5 (1-3) overall.
Launching action on court three doubles, Olivia Wollner and Stella Kollmansberger cruised to a 6-0 sweep. The pair of Eva Lopez and Scarlett Kingston followed shortly after at No. 2, propelling to a 6-2 victory and clinching the doubles point for the Yeowomen. Taking nearly twice as long as the first two matches, Freya Rahm and Hannah Soong persevered to win 7-6.
Not dropping a single game, Olivia Guzman surged to a 6-0, 6-0 sweep on court six. Ahead with an early 2-0 lead, Kingston, Lopez, and Rahm all finished within a two-minute span. At No. 1, Capital's Scarlett Stephens posted the 6-2, 6-3 victory over Kingston, reducing their gap to 2-1. Winning her first set 6-4, Lopez swept her opponent 6-0 on court four, extending the Crimson and Gold's lead to 3-1. Rahm followed just behind at No. 5, powering to a 6-3, 6-1 win and clinching the match for Oberlin.
Falling 6-4 in a tight opening set at No. 2, Rachel Allen regained her rhythm in the second set, delivering a 6-1 victory. Carrying her momentum into the tiebreaker set, Allen produced the 11-9 win, increasing the Crimson and Gold's lead to 5-1. With court three remaining, Kingston recorded a 6-3 victory in the first set. Trailing 6-2 in the second set and advancing to the tiebreaker, the sophomore collected the 10-4 victory.

Oberlin hits the road for a weekend conference doubleheader on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19. Taking on DePauw on Saturday with an opening serve at 1 p.m., the Crimson and Gold will return to Ohio to take on Wittenberg on Sunday.
