Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Ryan Polak has announced the hiring of Kyle Loughlin as the Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach.

"We're very excited to have Kyle join the staff. We feel his experiences at both Vassar and Moravian will allow the program to continue to take steps in the right direction. His ability to evaluate and identify high-level scholar-athletes will allow us to continue to recruit at a high level," Polak adds.

Loughlin joins Oberlin after serving as an assistant coach for Moravian for one season, working with the defensive unit and helping the Greyhounds to a Landmark Conference Tournament appearance. He also served as a Head Coach for HEADStrong Lacrosse this summer, running practice sessions and individual skill trainings and working with athletes during games. Before that, he was an assistant coach at Vassar for three seasons, coordinating substitutions during games, creating practice plans, and performing recruiting responsibilities. Loughlin also coached at Riot Lacrosse for a summer and served as a fourth-grade student teacher for a semester during his undergraduate studies.

A defensive midfielder during his freshman season, Loughlin graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Vassar College in 2025, earning the John Iyoya '83 Award for creativity in teaching. The New Jersey native graduated with education honors and earned his New York State Initial Childhood Education Certificate and a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing. Loughlin is currently pursuing his Master's in Education from Moravian University and PA Administration I Certification.

"I am very excited to become the new assistant coach for men's lacrosse at Oberlin College. I look forward to contributing to the success of the program," Loughlin adds.
