Irving, Texas - A record-breaking 13 student-athletes from the Oberlin College football team were selected to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society for their academic excellence through their college careers.
The NFF Hampshire Honor Society recognizes college football players from all divisions who maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better throughout their college careers. Earning the accolades for Oberlin were Jacob Barnes, Nathaniel Castro, Matt Cohn, Jimmy Fitzgerald, Gavi Genger, Brandon Hall, Greg Lane, Brent Larson, Jackson Lotinsky, Dylan Marshall, Evan Smith-Rooks, Chris Stoneman, and Josh Woznicki.
"The National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society is a prestigious group that exemplifies what it means to be a scholar-athlete," head football coach John Pont continues. "I am incredibly proud of these thirteen Yeomen. They set a great example for the classes who will follow in their footsteps. This award is a testament to their hard work and commitment."
Oberlin finished first among North Coast schools while Ohio Wesleyan and Wabash tied for second with nine honorees each, and Depauw (8) and Wittenberg (6) rounded out the top five.
The Crimson and Gold are slated to open their 2025 season on Saturday, September 6, when they host Calvin University at 12 p.m.
