Men’s Lacrosse Earns At-Large CSC Academic All-District Honors

Greenwood, Indiana – An impressive six members of the Oberlin College lacrosse team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District list.
 
Jack Duffy, Asher Friedman, Evan Sardina, Jacob Starcke, Christian Tacogue, and Jonas Taylor-Lillquist were named to the national list. For Duffy and Taylor-Lillquist, this marks their second CSC Academic All-District Honor.
 
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic status and either competed in 90% of the team's sets or started in at least 66% of matches while maintaining a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average.
 
Duffy, an Economics major, played in all but one game this season. Scoring 19 points on 13 goals and six assists, the junior led the midfield to an .865 clearing percentage, which ranks in the top 40 of the NCAA.
 
A Physics major from Palo Alto, California, Friedman played in all 16 games this season. The attacker scored 23 points, consisting of ten goals and 13 assists.
 
Earning Third-Team All-Conference honors in his Oberlin debut, Sardina played in all 16 games, making 13 starts. The sophomore finished fifth in the NCAA in faceoff winning percentage at .728 winning 249 of 342 faceoffs.
 
Starcke, a Computer Science major, locked in his third-straight All-Conference honor this season with a nod to the Second-Team. Leading the Crimson in goals (50) and points (57), Starcke also led the NCAC in goals and was the only athlete to finish averaging more than 3.00 goals/game.
 
Starting and playing all 16 games this season, Tacogue finished second on the team in goals (37) and points (46). A Biology major, the junior averaged 2.31 goals/game which raks tenth in the NCAC.
 
A senior from Montclair, New Jersey, Taylor-Lillquist started every game of his career but one, going 16-16 this season. A leader on defense, the Economics major scooped 34 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers in his final season.
 
Of the six, five are set to return for the 2026 season after Taylor-Lillquist graduated in May 2025.
