Box Score Bluffton, OH – The Yeowomen basketball team kept the wins coming as they took down Bluffton University on Saturday night. In the 55-47 victory,
Alyson Jefferson and
Gina Lombard led the team with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Oberlin moves to 2-0 ahead of their next match with Adrian College.
The Yeowomen got off to a hot start as Lombard drilled a three-pointer to put Oberlin ahead 3-0. The squad kept rolling in the first quarter as Senior

Jaedyn O'Reilly hit a jump shot opening the Yeowomen's largest lead of the quarter. As the clock dwindled down,
Mia Woo nailed a three-pointer to secure a 17-11 lead headed into the second quarter.
The second period offense was dominated by Jefferson and Lombard. Opening with a three-pointer, Lombard regained the momentum for the Yeowomen. Jefferson gave Oberlin a ten-point advantage as she followed with four-straight points. After multiple missed attempts to find the backboard, Jefferson connected with Lombard for her third three-pointer of the half. Making one final layup, Jefferson gave Oberlin a 29-18 lead headed into the half.
The Yeowomen locked down on defense early in the second half, not allowing the Beavers to score until the 7:33 mark. As Bluffton slowly crawled their way back into the game, Oberlin found themselves up by only five points with 4:43 remaining. Seconds later, Lombard managed to poke the ball out of the Beavers' hands and found O'Reilly ahead of her for the layup. The Yeowomen maintained their lead thanks to a pair of free throws in the final seconds.
Up 39-33, the Oberlin defense came out strong once again allowing only two points through the first four minutes of action. Lombard and Jefferson combined for a trio of buckets before Lombard knocked down another shot from behind the arc.
Bryana Woodard and Spanier got in the scoring action with a pair of layups as the clock hit the one-minute mark.
Jasmine Roberts and Jefferson made the final two baskets to give Oberlin the 55-47 win over Bluffton.
The Yeowomen hit the court again next Wednesday, November 17 as they host MIAA opponent Adrian College. Tip-off is set for 7pm with the live stream available
