Oberlin, Ohio – The 123 participants that took part in the Presidential Tire Flip Challenge were treated to glorious weather at Bailey Field on Saturday, November 7.
Each competitor was allotted one minute to flip the tire as many times as they possibly could.
The male who recorded the most flips was senior track and field athlete Connor Hibbard with 31. First-year track and field thrower Abby Cannon and sophomore softball player Kathryn Beeman tied atop the women's list of participants with 22 flips each.
Oberlin College President Carmen Twillie Ambar checked in with 18 flips in 60 seconds.
Over the four hours, there was a total of 2,062 flips for an average of 16.8 per round.
"This was such a fun event for everyone that was involved," Head Softball Coach and competition organizer
Sara Schoenhoft said. "The competitors brought great energy and excitement, and were certainly smiling underneath their masks. I want to thank all the participants, President Ambar, and all the students and staff that volunteered for helping make it a great day."
