Hank Sinn, who was making his first appearance on the national stage in his final collegiate meet, placed 11
th in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on Saturday.
A native of Latty, Ohio, Sinn qualified as the No. 19 seed with his school-record throw of 187-11 (57.29m) and improved upon that standing by eight places.
Today he hit 183-11.25 (56.06m) on his first throw and following a tough-luck foul, his third preliminary toss went 182-0.75 (55.49m).
Zak Dysert of Baldwin Wallace won the event with a mark of 203-05 (62.01m).
Sinn, who put together a strong showing in first experience at nationals, will be remembered as one of the top throwers in the history of Oberlin College.
