Series Information …
Oberlin trails in the all-time series against the Big Red 17-52-3… The first meeting between the two schools was in 1911 … The Yeomen have dropped four straight to Denison with their last win coming in the form of a 30-6 triumph at home on October 13, 2012 … In the last two years the Big Red have out-scored the Yeomen 99-7, including last season's 54-7 win at the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex.

Last Time Against the Big Red …
In last season's 54-7 loss, the Big Red defense limited Yeomen quarterback Zach Taylor to a career-low 45 yards passing yards … Oberlin did do some damage on the ground as then-freshman running back Melvin Briggs ran for a career-high 92 yards on 11 carries as Oberlin finished with 137 rushing yards … However, the Yeomen had no answers in slowing down the Denison offense that racked up 559 yards … Big Red QB Canaan Gebele accounted for four touchdowns in the game, running for three and throwing for one.

Scouting the Big Red …
Denison is coming off a record-setting, 62-26, win over Allegheny in which they accumulated 746 yards of offense … The Big Red, who are averaging an NCAC-best 55.5 points per game, lead the nation in total offense with 640.5 yards per game … Quarterback Canaan Gebele threw for a career-best 407 yards against the Gators en route to earning NCAC Player of the Week honors … A dual-threat option, Gebele leads the NCAC with 412.5 yards of total offense per game … Senior defensive back Brice Winans guides the defense and comes into Saturday's game ranked third in the league with 8.5 tackles per contest … The Big Red sit outside the Top 25, but are receiving votes in the AFCA Poll.

Get it to Gleeson …
Junior wide out Ryan Gleeson has been a favorite target of Taylor's as he has corralled a team-high 23 catches on the year … His 7.7 catches per game rank second in the NCAC, while his 78 yards per game is 10th-best in the conference.

Watch Out for Wooding …
Sophomore linebacker Von Wooding has been a menace for opposing offenses this fall as he currently ranks sixth in the NCAC with 7.3 tackles per game… Wooding is also second in the league with four tackles-for-loss that have totaled a league-best 35 yards.

Sack Masters …
The Yeomen defense has registered an NCAC-leading eight sacks on the season … Von Wooding, Luis Solorzano, and Jarrett Smith each have two sacks, while Anthony Allen and Jonathon Smith each have one.

Robbie the Wide Out …
After being held to five catches for 62 yards in the first two games, junior Robbie Reinheimer erupted for eight catches for a season-high 113 yards in last Saturday's loss to Wittenberg … He also appeared to have his second TD of the season, but had the ball ripped away late for what was ruled an interception … In his career, the Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, native has had four games of over 100 yards.

Red Zone Watch …
Oberlin has cashed in all five of its red zone opportunities on the season, scoring three touchdowns while settling for two field goals … However, the Yeomen need to create more chances inside the 20 as their five opportunities is second-lowest in the NCAC … Denison enters Saturday's game having scored 10 touchdowns on all 10 of its chances.

Punting to Pottebaum …
Freshman Josh Pottebaum has made his impact felt on defense and on special teams for the Yeomen … In addition to being fourth on the team with 17 tackles, Pottebaum has been a key factor returning punts as he leads the NCAC with an average of 9.9 yards per return ... On the season, he has run back seven kicks for 69 yards with a long of 35 yards.
