Oberlin, Ohio – After two straight weeks at home, the Oberlin College football team returns to the road in search of its first win of the season as the Yeomen cross state lines to Meadville, Pennsylvania, for a clash with the Allegheny College Gators.

Scouting the Gators …
The Gators are under new management as Head Coach B.J. Hammer is in his first season after spending the last five years as the defensive coordinator at Wabash College … While Allegheny is still in search of its first win, the Gators have shown vast improve under Hammer … Nonetheless, Allegheny has won just one of its last 34 games dating back to 2013 and are on a 22-game losing streak … Their last win came on September 20, 2014 when they beat Hiram College 24-21 … Quarterback Logan Lee has thrown seven touchdowns and is averaging 150.8 yards per game … Alex Victor has 17 catches, including a team-high four TD's … Tristan Rhoades is the team's top tackler with 37, while overall Allegheny has 28 tackles-for-loss … The Gators have been out-scored 183-75 through the front four games of the season.
Corralling Cruz …
After exploding for 170 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener at Kalamazoo College, senior wide receiver
Justin Cruz has been held in check over the last three games, totaling just 109 yards on 12 catches and no TD's … However, this could be the week to get him back on track as he has combined post 327 yards against the Gators in the last two seasons – including his record-breaking performance from 2014 when he set the single-game yardage record with 242 on 14 catches to go along with three TD's.
Nice Start …
Freshman cornerback
Jubreel Hason made his first-collegiate start last week against Ohio Wesleyan and had an impressive performance, notching a game-high 12 tackles and a sack for 11 yards … Hason had nine solo stops and three assisted tackles to run his season total to 20.
Second-Quarter Struggles …
The second quarter of games have not been kind to the Yeomen thus far as they have been out-scored 59-6 in the second stanza throughout the first four games … In total the Yeomen have been out-scored 164-68 on the season.
Running Wacky…
While the Yeomen lead the NCAC in rushing attempts with 181, their efforts have not been turning into the results they may have hoped for … Their 111.5 yards per game on the ground rank seventh in the NCAC, while their 2.5 yards per carry average is good for ninth … The Yeomen also have failed to produce a rushing touchdown so far this season.
Seeing Red …
Oberlin has cashed in on 7-of-9 red zone trips this season with five touchdowns and two field goals … While their 77.8-percent success rate is good, the Yeomen need to give themselves more opportunities as only Ohio Wesleyan among NCAC schools has had less chances from inside-the-20 … Defensively, the Yeomen have also been strong when defending their own goal, holding opponents to 66.7-percent (16-of-24) … Opponents have scored nine touchdowns and seven field goals against them.

Bennett Jackson have spearheaded the Yeomen defense through the first quarter of the season and two of the top tacklers in the NCAC … Allen ranks 13
