Series Information …
Oberlin trails in the all-time series against the Big Red 16-50-3… The first meeting between the two schools was in 1911 … The Yeomen have won seven of the last 13 games against the Big Red, including a 30-6 triumph at home in 2012 … However, the Big Red have taken the previous two match-ups, winning 34-7 in 2014 and 27-14 in 2013.

Last Time Against the Big Red …
The Yeomen offense never got going in last year's 34-7 loss to Denison at the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex … The Yeomen netted just 170 total yards, while getting gashed for 428 yards … Oberlin scored its lone touchdown of the game after taking over at the Big Red 5-yardline following a muffed punt.

Last Time Out for Oberlin …
Oberlin earned its first-ever win on the Bailey Field turf, defeating Kenyon College, 28-24, last Saturday evening … Blake Buckhannon rushed for a career-high 153 yards and a score, while Justin Cruz scored his second touchdown of the year … The Yeomen defense also recorded nine tackles-for-loss in the victory.

Scouting the Big Red …
Denison enters Saturday's game having had two weeks to prepare for the Yeomen after being idle in week two … The Big Red (1-0) opened the season with a 41-14 victory over Marietta … Denison's high-powered offense recorded 484 yards as junior quarterback Tommy Iammarino made his first-career start, throwing for 316 yards and three touchdowns en route to earning NCAC Player of the Week honors … Preseason All-American and 2014 NCAC Offensive Player of the Year DuShawn Brown was on the receiving end of  173 of those yards as he caught seven balls, including a 22-yard TD … He will again be a tough cover for the Yeomen secondary as he caught eight balls for 131 yards and a TD in last season's win.

Getting Rewarded …
Following last week's 28-24 win over Kenyon, the Yeomen picked up some praise as Blake Buckhannon was named NCAC Offensive Player of the Week for his 153-yard effort against the Lords … Junior linebacker Justin Bute was also named to the D3football.com Team of the Week as he made a career-high 15 tackles (11 solo) in the win.

Forget It and Find It …
Lucas Poggiali needs to forget last year's subpar performance against Denison and try to rekindle the success he had against them as a sophomore in 2013 … In the Yeomen's last trip to Granville, he threw for a career-high 293 yards and two touchdowns on 19-of-38 passing … Blake Buckhannon, who missed last year's game with an injury, was on the receiving end of 143 of those yards on six catches, which included a 75-yard TD … However, despite out-gaining the Big Red 401 to 292 in total offense, the Yeomen still finished on the wrong side of a 27-14 scoreline.

Run Baby Run …
The Yeomen backfield consist of more than one guy with big-play ability … After last week's outburst against Kenyon, Blake Buckhannon is averaging 9.2 yards per carry, which ranks fourth in the NCAC … In limited carries, Khalil Rivers has ripped off some big runs, averaging 6.9 yards per carry with 48 yards on seven attempts … Starter Justin Williams is also getting five yards per tote as he has totaled 111 yards on 22 carries through the first two games.

Passing Problems …
The Yeomen passing game is yet to get going this season as Yeomen quarterbacks Lucas Poggiali (14-34-2) and Christian Flynn (1-6-0) have completed just 15-of-40 attempts for a 37.5-pertcent completion rate … Poggiali has thrown both of Oberlin's passing touchdowns to Justin Cruz … He has also been intercepted twice.

Seeing Red …
The Yeomen have made the most of their four trips into the red zone this year, scoring touchdowns all four times … The Yeomen have rushed in three times and threw for one score … With the kicking game still in flux, Oberlin is yet to attempt a field goal through its first two games.

Not Afraid to Hit the Road …
The Yeomen have had success on the road in recent years, with five of their 10 wins dating back to 2012 coming away from home … Last season both of the Yeomen's victories were on the road and in 2013, three of the team's four wins came away from Savage Stadium.
