Hillsdale, MI - Select Oberlin runners were in action on Friday night at the 49th annual Hillsdale Gina Relays meet.

Running for the first time this outdoor season, junior Geno Arthur impressed by shattering the school record in the 5,000 meters as he completed the course in 14:43.60, which places him in the top 30 in the country. The timestamp also best that of Stephen Williams who held the school's 5k record with a time of 15:10.36 that he set at the 2011 NCAC Outdoor Championships.

In the women's 5,000 meters, senior Carey Lyons clocked the 12th fastest time in the country at 17:14.48, while classmate Emma Lehmann completed the course in 17:51.95 to place seven spots back of Lyons in 23rd place.

While the Bob Kahn Track serves as the host of the NCAC Combined Event Championships this weekend, the majority of the Oberlin track and field teams will be competing at the Ashland University Alumni Meet on Saturday.
