Westlake, Ohio – Claiming it for the second time in her career, Oberlin College women's track & field senior,
Anna Fritz, earned North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
Head coach
Ben Wach said, "Seeing Anna carry the momentum of her record-breaking indoor season straight into this kind of outdoor debut is thrilling, but totally unsurprising given her preparation this year!"
Fritz delivered a fantastic performance at the Bob Kahn Invitational, leading the field in both individual and relay competition.
The senior captured the long jump title with a mark of 5.33m, the top mark in the NCAC this season and the best outdoor jump of her career, now ranking sixth in program history. She also contributed to a first-place finish in the 4x100m relay, running the second leg of the winning squad (50.93).
Her performance highlighted a strong outdoor start and reinforced her position among the conference's top jumpers.
The Oberlin native and the rest of the Crimson and Gold return to action this Friday, April 3 when they head to the two-day Wooster Invitational. Events are set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
