Hayden Hill,
Walter Moak,
Namu Makatiani, and
Sam Fechner were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
To earn the honor, one must be at least a sophomore, have a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and rank inside the top 50 in the region in any event.
One of the greatest multi-event athletes in school history, Hill capped off her illustrious career by winning the pentathlon at the 2024 NCAC Indoor Championships. A native of View Park, California, Hill graduated with a degree in history as a two-time conference champion and eight-time All-NCAC selection.
Ending his 2024 season as a second-team All-American in the 3000-meer steeplechase, Moak earned three North Coast Athletic Championships. A musical studies major from Charlottesville, Virginia, Moak is the owner of three school records and is eyeing three trips to nationals next season. He will move on to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
Makatiani will also appear on the national ballot after capping off his season as a second-team All-American in the triple jump. A sophomore from Nairobi, Kenya, Makatiani is a biology major and the owner of two school records. He won the triple jump both indoors and outdoors at the conference level this season.
A native of Hamburg, Germany, Fechner is a part of four relay records at Oberlin. A junior biology major who has earned over a 4.00 GPA, Fechner has his sights set on a national berth this upcoming season.
