Last Meeting Against The Gators …Last year the Yeomen went on the road and defeated Allegheny 37-9 as wide receiver
Justin Cruz put together the best day in Yeomen history, setting a new school record with 242 yards on 14 catches to go along with three touchdowns … Oberlin gashed the Gators' defense to the tune of 521 yards, while the Yeomen defense recorded three interceptions and two sacks , limiting Allegheny to just 219 yards.
Last Time Out For Oberlin …Oberlin dug itself a big hole and was unable to recover as Ohio Wesleyan fended off 30 fourth-quarter points to hold on for a 55-42 win over the Yeomen.
Scouting the Gators …The Gators are still in search of their first win of the season, entering Saturday's game with a mark of 0-4 … Allegheny has lost 22 of its last 23 games dating back to 2013 … The Gators have been out-scored 151-51 through the first four games … Running the ball and stopping the run has been a problem thus far as they average just 36 yards per game on the ground, while allowing opponents to rush for 254.5 yards per game … Quarterbacks Jon Nigro and Logan Lee have split time under center … Together they have thrown for five touchdowns and are averaging 151.8 yards per game … Wide receiver Tyler Smith is a dangerous threat as he has snagged four touchdowns while averaging 85 yards per game and 20 yards per catch.

Jabari Clemons impressed in his collegiate debut against Ohio Wesleyan, snagging seven balls for 73 yards and a touchdown … Classmate
Robby Reinheimer also compiled one of the best days any freshman receiver has had in quite some time as he finished with 130 yards and two touchdowns on six catches …
Ryan Gleeson also chipped in with 37 yards on five catches.
Not So Special …The shortcomings in the Yeomen's special teams - especially in the kicking game – have proved to be costly over the last two weeks … Last week the Bishops blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown and overall on the season Oberlin is averaging a net of just 22 yards per punt, leaving its opponents with short fields … In the last two games vs. Denison and Ohio Wesleyan the Yeomen have given up 13 scoring drives with the average starting position being their own 45-yard line, which just two of the 13 drives going longer than 60 yards … The Yeomen are also yet to attempt a field goal on the season and have made just one PAT, electing to go for two after every score.
Kept it Rolling …Senior quarterback
Lucas Poggiali had the best statistical day of his Yeomen career throwing for 342 yards and four touchdowns last week against Ohio Wesleyan … It is the seventh-best passing performance of any Yeomen quarterback in school history … After throwing for just 213 yards through first three games combined with 21 completions on 52 attempts, the Sandusky, Ohio, native finished 27-of-44 against OWU, while also adding his second rushing touchdown of the season.
Plenty of Points … Fans could be in for a high-scoring affair on Saturday as the Yeomen and Gators both rank toward the bottom in the NCAC in points allowed … Oberlin is tied with Ohio Wesleyan for last in the league with an average of 42 points allowed per game, while the Gators are slightly ahead of them at 37.8.
Third And … The Yeomen have struggled to maintain drives at times, ranking ninth in the NCAC in third down conversions … Oberlin has moved the chains 12 times on 54 tries for a 22.2 percent success rate … The only team below them is Allegheny, who comes in at 15.6 percent with seven first downs on 45 opportunities.
Homecoming Hiccups …The Yeomen have won just one homecoming game dating back to the 2008 season … The victory came in 2011 when they defeated Hiram College 27-7 … As a freshman
