Richmond, IN – It was a team effort from Oberlin College field hockey as they erased a two-goal deficit to defeat the Earlham Quakers in overtime, 3-2.

The overtime goal came on a penalty shot from sophomore Maureen Coffey in the 77th minute.

The Yeowomen fell behind early surrendering a goal in the 13th and 25th minute. The Quakers took their 2-0 lead into the half, but the Yeowomen would not go quietly.

In the 44th minute, Ariana Enzerink cut the Earlham lead in half with an unassisted goal, her first of the season.

Coffey found the equalizer three minutes later from a corner opportunity. The Quakers and Yeomen remained deadlocked at 2-2 for the rest of the match forcing overtime.

After registering the equalizer, Coffey claimed her second goal of the match 6:14 into overtime from a penalty shot.

The victory pushes the Yeowomen  to 1-4 on the year and 1-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Oberlin field hockey returns to competition next Saturday, September 27, when they travel to the College of Wooster.
