Box Score

Greencastle, IN - The Oberlin College field hockey team made the long trip out to Indiana, falling to the 15th-ranked Tigers of DePauw University 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The high-powered Tigers proved to be a tough challenge for the young Yeowomen squad, but they continued to fight for all 70 minutes of the match.

An energized performance in the first half held the Tigers to just four scores, three of which came in the first 7:33. From that point on the Yeowomen settled in and limited DePauw's chances.

In the second half, the Tigers came out strong and scored all five of their goals within the first 10 minutes of the stanza.

With the victory, DePauw moved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the NCAC. Oberlin fell to 0-4 and 0-3 in league play.

Sophomore goalie Maggie Gossiaux made 24 saves in the setback.

Oberlin will look for its first win of the season when it travels to Earlham College on Sunday.
