Field Hockey Falls to Wittenberg

Oberlin, Ohio – In their second North Coast Athletic Conference match of the season, Oberlin field hockey was handed a 4-0 defeat by the Tigers of Wittenberg University.

The Tigers struck early, with all four of their goals coming in the first half.

Sophomore Maggie Gossiaux faced 23 shots from Wittenberg and reached double –figures for the fourth consecutive game with 19 saves. Goosiaux was a force in the second half, turning away 15 of the Tigers shots on goal.

Sophomore attacker Maureen Coffey led the Yeomen offense with four shots, two on goal. Arianna Enzerink recorded two shots against the Tigers while the duo of Dyaami D'Ozario and Sophia Weinstein collected one shot each.

Oberlin field hockey will return to action on Saturday, September 20 against NCAC foe DePauw. The Yeowomen will entertain the Tigers at 1 p.m.
