Field Hockey Falls to #16 DePauw

Zuckerman tallied the only Oberlin goal
Box Score Oberlin, Ohio – A late goal from senior Rachel Zuckerman was not enough for Oberlin field hockey as they battled the 16th ranked DePauw University Tigers to a 9-1 loss on Saturday at the Austin E. Knowlton Athletic Complex.

The Yeowomen fell behind 6-0 in the first half, despite a strong effort from the Oberlin defense.

Trailing 8-0, in the 53rd minute, the Oberlin women tallied their first home goal of the year. Zuckerman deflected in a shot attempt from sophomore Ariana Enzerink

The Tigers added another score in the 57th to push the score line to 9-1.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Gossiaux registered 26 saves on the day, moving her season total to 204. Gossiaux is averaging a nation's best 19.80 saves per game.

Junior Kendra Lian also collected a defensive save for the Oberlin defense against the Tigers.

The Yeowomen will return tomorrow, Sunday, October 19 when they play host to the Quakers of Earlham College at 1 p.m.
