Westlake, Ohio – A 2006 Oberlin College graduate, Rosemary Mudry co-captained the greatest field hockey team in school history in 2005. A four-year standout for the Yeowomen between 2002-2005, she was named to the NCAC All-Decade team the league office announced on Monday.
As a senior, Mudry led the Yeowomen to their first-ever NCAC title – cashing in two penalty stroke goals in a 3-0 win over Wooster in the championship game. The team went on to win its first NCAA Tournament game before losing in the second round to top-seeded Salisbury.
In that magical 2005 season, Mudry started all 20 games as a defender but still finished with four goals and three assists. She also had a team-high six defensive saves. Her efforts helped Oberlin finish at 16-5 overall and 11-3 in the NCAC.
Mudry started all 73 games of her illustrious four-year career. She totaled 10 goals, eight assists and recorded 17 defensive saves.
She was a part of the most successful era of Oberlin field hockey. In her four years the team had an overall record of 47-27 and was an impressive 35-15 in NCAC play. Mudry was a two-time All-NCAC Second-Team selection and was a first-team honoree as a senior.
