Track or Treat Was a Tremendous Success

Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College athletics department's Track or Treat event on Halloween evening provided candy and entertainment to approximately 400 area children and their families.

Oberlin's John W. Heisman Field House severed as the venue with each Oberlin athletics team setting up stations around the track to pass out candy to the kids.

Senior women's basketball player Lillian Jahan organized the event along with senior associate director of athletics Creg Jantz. Members of Oberlin's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee also assisted in making the evening run so smoothly.

"I am so happy at how successful Track or Treat was," Jahan said. "It was so much fun getting to see all of our athletes and coaches getting to interact with all the kids and families in their costumes. Overall, just getting to see how happy everyone was and how much fun everyone had made the day. I am really proud of how well the event came together and I can't thank everyone enough for their help."

Along with the athletics department, the Oberlin City School District, led by Superintendent John Schroth should be commended for their amazing assistance in promoting the event to the community.

"Lillian did such a tremendous job organizing this event, bringing the College and community together for an evening that was truly magical" Delta Lodge Director of Athletics Natalie Winkelfoos said. "However, I would also like to thank John Schroth and the Oberlin City School District cause we certainly would have not been able to do it without them. We are looking forward to hosting more events that will strengthen our connection with the town."

There will be at least two more community service events this academic year with one in the winter and one in the spring.
