Westlake, Ohio – From the field to the court, the pitch to the pool, and the diamond to the track, the Oberlin College Athletics Department produced a record-breaking 183 student-athletes on the
Dr. Gordon Collin Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. This marks the most Crimson and Gold student-athletes on the North Coast's academic honor roll in the 13-year history of the award, exceeding last year's total of 177 scholar-athletes.
To be honored, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore on an active roster in a sport sponsored by the conference and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Eligible honorees are submitted by each school.
Men's lacrosse boasted the most student-athletes, with 23, while baseball followed with 17, and track and field (13), football (11), soccer (11), tennis (11), and football recorded double digits. Among the women's teams, lacrosse posted 18 student-athletes, with track and field (14), swim and dive (12), field hockey (11), and soccer (11) rounding out the double-digit scholar-athletes.
Oberlin finished third among North Coast schools, led by DePauw, which finished with 193 student-athletes, and Kenyon, which totaled 185. John Carroll (172) and Ohio Wesleyan (164) rounded out the top five.
