Ruiz & Boozer Compete at Denison

Complete Results

Granville, Ohio – Freshman Justin Ruiz and sophomore Zachary Boozer competed as individuals at the Denison Fall Classic this weekend.

Ruiz, a highly-touted rookie, posted the lowest score in the recent history of the Oberlin golf team, carding in a 77 on Saturday. He had looks at eight birdie putts in the round, but could not get any to drop to shrink the number even lower. He was six shots back of his Saturday score, posting an 83 today to finish with 160 total strokes, which tied for 36th overall in the 74-man field.

Boozer recorded rounds of 109 and 114 on the par-71, 6559-yard layout at the Granville Golf Club.

The golf team is scheduled to compete again the last weekend of September at the Kenyon College Invite.
