Oberlin trails in the all-time series against the Battling Bishops 20-49-1… The first meeting between the two schools was in 1892, the Yeomen's first undefeated season under John W. Heisman, when Oberlin shutout Ohio Wesleyan 56-0… In 2011, four second-half Yeomen turnovers contributed to a Battling Bishop comeback… Oberlin led by the scores of 16-3 in the third quarter and 23-16 and 23-22 in the fourth… With less than three minutes to play in regulation, Ohio Wesleyan's Mason Espinosa led the Battling Bishops on a six-play, 53-yard scoring drive to ultimately win the game … However, OC did upend the Bishops 16-12 in their last meeting at Savage Stadium on November 6, 2010 … In the game

Ohio Wesleyan entered 2012 coming off a 4-6 season in 2011… The Battling Bishops welcomed new head coach Tom Watts to the program this season… Ohio Wesleyan won its first game of the season against Denison 32-29 this past Saturday… In the first game of his junior season, quarterback Mason Espinosa became the program's all-time leading passer… Espinosa threw for three touchdowns and 302 yards in OWU's season opener, while completing 34 passes to eight different receivers… The Ohio Wesleyan defense was led by junior safety Rayce Risser as he totaled 11 tackles… Junior defensive tackle Tyler Swary followed with eight tackles, and five sacks.

Clay Eaton, whose three tackles for a loss is and two sacks per game rank seventh and fifth in the country, leads the Yeomen defensive line… The senior came into the 2012 season sitting in second place on the list for sacks in a career with 19.5, three away from the record (22)… After sacking Earlham's quarterback twice in week one, Eaton comes into Oberlin's second game just one sack away from breaking the record for career sacks set by Chris Pisani.

David Kalgren had a big week in the Yeomen secondary against Earlham as he picked off two passes and returned the first for a 47-yard touchdown and the second for a 43-yard touchdown … For his efforts he was named as the NCAC Defensive Player of the Week, the OhioCollegeFootball.com Division III Defensive Player of the Week and also named to the d3football.com Team of the Week .., In his career, Kalgren now has eight INTs.
Kicking Off the Season the Right Way…
Sophomore
Erickson Andrews began the 2012 season by setting an Oberlin record for field goals in a game with four… Andrews' four field goals against Earlham in week one were more than the total number of field goals made in the 2011 season (3) … The local Oberlin native was true from 24, 35, 48 and 28 yards.

In their first game of the 2012 season, the Oberlin running backs ran for 247 yards on their way to a dominant victory… Senior
