Pasadena, CA – Three players scored in double figures as the Oberlin College women's basketball team downed Caltech, 72-31, on Friday afternoon at the Braun Athletic Center.

Lillian Jahan cashed in a career-high 14 points, while
Allison Gannon chipped in with 11. Junior
Malisa Hoak also dished out a career-high 10 assists and added eight points of her own in the thrashing.
The stiff Yeowomen defense limited the Beavers to just five first-half field goals, which allowed them to claim a 33-12 advantage at the break. Oberlin raced out to a 12-0 lead before Caltech finally got on the board at the 13:30 mark.
In the second half it was more of the same as the Yeowomen eventually opened up a 30-point lead, 47-17, with 15:14 left to play and they never looked back. First-year
Caroline Hamilton scored her first collegiate points in the half and finished with six in the game. Fellow rookie
Katie Lucaites also dropped in seven points in the contest.
Oberlin shot 45.2-percent (28-of-62) from the floor and finished 6-of-22 (27.3%) from 3-point land. The Yeowomen's hardnosed defense limited the Beavers to just 24-percent (12-of-50) shooting.
With the win, the Yeowomen improved to 3-1 on the year – marking the best start in Head Coach
Kerry Jenkins' five-year tenure.
Oberlin will be right back in action tomorrow afternoon against Occidental College. Tip-time is set for 3 p.m. PST/6 p.m. EST.
