Oberlin, Ohio – Earlier this month Oberlin College football players,
Jake Hochendoner and
Shawn Chrapczynski were named as USA College Sports Senior All-Americans by the Hansen Senior Bowl Committee.
Hochendoner, a native of Poland, Ohio, will depart Oberlin this spring as one of the best defensive ends in school history. In four years, he started in 39 games, making 13.5 sacks which ranks fourth all-time. The 2011 All-NCAC Second-Team selection totaled 165 tackles, including 25.5 tackles for a loss during his illustrious career.
This past season, Hochendoner finished second on the team in sacks (6) and tackles for a loss (10.5), both of which ranked ninth in the conference. His 59 total tackles were third best on the squad and he also tied for the team lead in fumble recoveries (2) and forced fumbles (2).
Chrapczynski, a native of nearby Lorain, Ohio, who garnered All-NCAC Honorable-Mention accolades this fall finished with a team-high eight pass breakups and tied for fifth on the team with 52 total tackles. He also had one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one blocked kick on the year.
Chrapczynski, who missed all of 2010 due to injury, made 139 tackles in 30 games played in his career. He recorded three interceptions and had 18 pass break-ups.
