Granville, Ohio- The Oberlin College field hockey team fell to the Denison Big Red with a final score of 8-2 Wednesday afternoon.

After two quick goals by Denison, head coach Deb Ranieri called a timeout and less than two minutes later, the Yeowomen answered with a goal of their own. Sophomore midfielder
Karin Yoshida netted her team leading fifth goal of the season, off an assist by fellow classmate
Lindani Johnson.
In true never give up fashion, the Yeowomen played to the final minute, and scored their second goal as time expired, late in the 69th minute. Claire Yeski scored her first goal of the season, off a double assist by
Caroline Bannan and
Karin Yoshida.
Yeowomen goalies totaled 10 saves while Denison had two. The Big red had a slight advantage in corners (8-6) while they out shot the Yeowomen 26-7.
The Yeowomen continue the 2011 season on Saturday, September 17 at Earlham College.
