Cleveland, OH
- The Oberlin College Baseball team dropped both games of their double-header against Case Western Reserve University on Wednesday afternoon by scores of 5-4 and 8-0.

Game one started off favorably for the Yeomen as they were able to jump out to a 4-0 lead after three innings of play. All four of the Yeomen's runs came with two outs in the inning. Seniors Ben Puterbaugh, Brandon Cantrill, and Max Phinney all came through with two-out hits with runners in scoring position to tally RBIs.

Senior starter Grady Campion seemed to be in control through his first three innings. In the fourth, however, the Spartans were able to push a run across, thanks to a single that skipped by Phinney in right field, scoring Chad Mullins from first base on the play. In the fifth, Campion continued to work strongly, but it was the defense that let him down. Three Yeomen errors in the frame coupled with three Spartan hits allowed the Spartans to take a 5-4 lead. Of the five runs Campion gave up, only two were earned. Spartan reliever Jose Vega came in in the sixth inning to close the door on the Yeomen, picking up his second save of the season.

In the nightcap, the Yeomen just could not get the bats rolling as they only mustered five hits in the game. Once again, the Yeomen defense did not help the cause as they made three more errors in the game. Of the eight Spartan runs, only four were earned.

The lone bright spot on the day for the Yeomen was sophomore Robin Witjes who has seen only limited time this season, but finished the day 3-for-5 with a run scored.

The Yeomen will go back to work in preparation for critical conference games at home this weekend against Hiram College and Kenyon College. The Yeomen will take on the Terriers on Saturday and the Lords on Sunday. First pitch for Saturday is set for 1 p.m.
