Greenwood, Indiana – For the second straight year, the Oberlin College baseball team collected five College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District awards, announced by the CSC on Tuesday afternoon.
Calvin Burkholder and Brady Groves produce their second career CSC accolade after earning CSC honors last year, while Daniel Krabill, Matthew Ruttkay, and Anton Shelton record their first CSC recognition.
Earning his second straight CSC honor, Burkholder led the Yeomen with a team-high 47.1 innings with 10 starts, finishing with a 3-4 season record. A Data Science major with a 3.90 GPA, Burkholder finished the 2026 season with 31 strikeouts.
Graduating from Oberlin with two CSC awards and a pair of North Coast Athletic Conference Third-Team honors, Groves co-led the team with a .342 batting average, registering 51 hits, 28 runs, and 42 RBIs this season. The North Carolina native finishes his tenure ranked seventh in program history with 152 career hits.
A sophomore from Akron with majors in financial economics and data science, Krabill notched 17 runs, 30 hits, including four home runs, and 15 RBIs during the 2026 season. Starting in 34 games, the Ohio native delivered eight multi-hit performances, including a season-high three against DePauw.
A Law and Society major with a 4.0 GPA, Ruttkay pitched 45.0 innings through nine starts and 11 appearances, leading the Oberlin pitching staff with a 3-3 record. Through 196 at-bats, the sophomore delivered a team-high 35 strikeouts this season.
A Jazz Trombone Performance and Law and Society dual-degree with a minor in anthropology, Shelton recorded a .318 batting average, posting 20 runs, 34 hits, and 17 RBIs this season. Serving as the Yeomen's primary catcher, the California native finishes his career with 491 putouts and a .945 fielding percentage.
"We're very proud of the success that our guys have both on the field and in the classroom," Head Coach Johnathan Ray adds. "The goal for our institution is to have scholar-athletes, and these five demonstrate those qualities."
