(2010): One of two players to start in all 37 games, used primarily as team’s catcher … Finished second on the team in batting average (.328), hits (38), runs scored (25), total bases (63), and slugging percentage (.543) … Led the team with four home runs, with his first-career home run coming at Case Western Reserve University (3/18/10) … Led OC in hit by pitches (10) … Finished third on the season in on-base percentage (.406), doubles (11), and RBIs (23) … Saw action in nine games on the mound starting in four games, where he posted a 2-3 record with two saves … Threw a team leading two complete games.
(2009): As a sophomore.... Brandon started in 38 games, playing catcher and shortstop. He had 106 at bats, hit .302, had 7 doubles, and led the team with 24 R.B.I.'s. On the mound he had a team low 4.82 E.R.A. and went 1-0 while making 4 appearances.
Prior to Oberlin: Brandon is a 2007 graduate of Western Reserve High School in Collins, Ohio. At Western Reserve, Brandon graduated fourth in his class while excelling in athletics. He was a four-year letter winner in baseball and two-year letter winner in football. Brandon received All-Firelands Conference Awards all four years, including first-team his Senior year. Brandon also was named All-District 2nd team his Junior year and 1st team his Senior year. Brandon was the team MVP, Captain, and District 9 All-Star in his Senior season. He also Captained the football team his Senior year and was the team's Quarterback.
Brandon is very interested in sports and is a big Cleveland sports fan. Brandon tutors fifth graders in mathematics at Prospect Elementary in Oberlin, Ohio.
Brandon was born on May 30, 1989 and is the son of Milton and Danielle Cantrill. He is a prospective Sociology major.
