Series Information ...
Oberlin trails the all-time series against the Gators 18-26-1 with the first meeting between the two schools coming all the way back in 1907 when the Yeomen shutout the Gators 25-0 in Oberlin … In the 2010 matchup, the Yeomen offense struggled throughout the whole game, and didn't  manage to get on the board until Robin Witjes caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from graduated senior Joey Zebelian with 1:29 to go in the game… Drew Mixter would recover the ensuing onside kick and the Yeomen Adam Neic would have a 28-yard touchdown reception with 1:00 remaining in the game … The next onside attempt failed, and the game was over… On the defensive side of the ball, Matt Richard had 13 total tackles, including one for a loss, and a forced fumble, and Eric Enrico added six tackles and an interception.

Scouting the Gators…
The Allegheny Gators are averaging 21.3 points per game in the 2011 season. They average 4.7 yards per play, and 310 per game. They have a pretty balanced attack, rushing for 112 yards per game and throwing for 198… The Gators use two running backs in their system. Ben Perko averages 4.5 yards per carry and has 307 on the season. Brian Tamburlin is the short yardage power back and has 321 yards on 114 carries and four touchdowns… Quarterback Jordon Fowler, who is 177-269 on the year for 1746 yards and 13 touchdowns and only five interceptions, leads the Gator offense. Fowler's main targets are Matt Griffith and Sean Griffin. Both are senior wide receivers. Griffith has a team high 40 catches on the year for 507 yards and seven touchdowns. Griffin has 26 catches for 414 yards and five touchdowns… The Gator defense is led by defensive back Colin Hartford. He has three interceptions on the season, two of which he returned for touchdowns. He has also recorded 31 tackles. Linebacker William Devlin leads the team with 68 total tackles and 3.5 sacks. He has also added 7.5 tackles for a loss. The Defensive line is led by John Douglas who has 26 tackles on the year, but 12.5 of them have been for a loss, and he's added 2.5 sacks.

Keeping it on their side…
Senior punter Cory Kidd had a career day last year against the Gators. He punted seven times, and netted 281 yards, including a career long 71 yarder. For the 2010 season he averaged 40.6 yards per punt, which set the school record. His ability to change the field position during the game can make the Gator offense have to work with a long field all day.

Big Numbers…
Quarterback Josh Mandel has 1839 passing yards this season. If he can throw for 161 or more yards, he will become only the fourth quarterback in Oberlin history to pass for 2,000 yards in a season. He also has 18 touchdown passes this year, which is only one away from the season record of 19 set by Willie Martinez in 1974.

Sack Milestone…
Last week's performance of two and a half sacks by Clay Eaton gave him 10 on the season. That's good for second place all time in a single season. He needs three and half more to tie Chris Pisani, who had 13.5 in 2005. The 10 sacks this year gives him 18.5 in his career, which is also good for second place all time, just four and a half back from Pisani for the career record of 22.5.

Every Which Way…
The Yeomen offense has been everything but traditional this year due to injuries and personnel problems. Alan Estep's creative mind has allowed a ton of different people to contribute to the scoreboard this year. Four different Yeomen have rushed for touchdowns, three different Yeomen have thrown for touchdowns, and 7 Yeomen have receiving touchdowns.
