Series Information ...
Oberlin trails the all-time series against the Battling Bishops 21-48-1 with the first meeting between the two schools came all the way back in 1892 when the Yeomen rolled over the Battling Bishops 56-0 en route to its first undefeated season at 7-0 under John W. Heisman … In the 2010 matchup, the Yeomen defeated the Battling Bishops on a cold November day 16-12… The Oberlin offensive attack was lead by Drew Mixter who had 94 yards on 18 carries, and Moses Richardson added 53 yards on 18 carries… The stifiling Oberlin defense was led by Dane Stritt who had a team high eight tackles including one for a loss, and a forced fumble… The defense had a big 4th-and-2 stop in the fourth quarter to put the game on ice.

Scouting the Battling Bishops…
Ohio Wesleyan comes off their second win of the 2011 season after defeating Kenyon last week, by a score of 44-24… The Bishops' offensive attack is lead by quarterback, Mason Espinosa. He is 163-318 this season, for 1826 yards and 10 touchdowns. He does however tend to turn the ball over, throwing 12 interceptions this year… Espinosa likes to throw the ball down the field, with his main deep threats being Erik Wall and Dave Mogilnicki. Wall has 12 catches for 207 yards and three touchdowns, while Mogilnicki has 17 catches for 295 yards and two scores. Running back Kevin Herman has more receptions than rushing attempts this year, so look for him to leak out of the backfield and catch quick hitters… Ohio Wesleyan's defense is lead by their defensive backs, who have seven interceptions between four of them. Chris Wilson and Keegan Varner spearhead the DB's with two a piece, and have combined for 97 tackles and eight pass breakups… Junior linebacker Tyler Sheetz leads the team with 89 total tackles, including eight for a loss and 4.5 sacks. Defensive lineman James Huddleston leads the attack in the trenches, with 58 total tackles, including 17.5 for a loss and 6.0 sacks.

Efficiency…
Last week senior Cory Kidd threw his third and fourth career touchdown passes. For his career, he is now 4-7 for 181 yards. Every pass that he has completed in his four years has been for a touchdown. He actually has more passing touchdowns than receiving in his career. As a receiver for the Yeomen, he has 664 yards and three touchdowns. This year his passer efficiency rating is a eye popping 606!

Showcasing Talents…
The Yeomen are only 62 yards away from 2000 as a team this year. The crazy thing about the 2011 season for the Yeomen is that they have four different quarterbacks who have thrown for over 100 yards this season, and three who have thrown for touchdowns. Josh Mandel obviously leads the Yeomen with 1501 yards and 15 TD's, but Joe Cook has 173 yards, Robin Witjes has 129 yards and 2 TD's, and Kidd has 135 yards and 3 TD's.

Back on the Ground…
After the running attack was held to a season low four yards two weeks ago against Washington University, it bounced back against Denison for 188 yards. Mixter had a game high 80 yards to lead the Yeomen. It was also his season high. Adam Lowther added a season high 40 yards on a season high eight carries. Look for both experienced backs to continue the running game for the Yeomen this week against OWU.

Passing Career Marks…
Derrick Dennis has 58 tackles this season for the Yeomen. His previous career high for a season was 56 in 2009. With two games to go this season, he can only continue to set personal bests. After playing in '07 and redshirting in '08, Dennis has 169 career tackles for the Yeomen.

Middle Quarters…
The Yeomen are outscoring opponents 44-38 in the first quarter, and an impressive 75-55 in the fourth quarter. However in the second and third quarters the Yeomen are being outscored 115-64 combined. Oberlin has had no issue with starting or finishing strong, but they need to concentrate on the middle quarters to win the game.
