Gambier, Ohio – The Oberlin College field hockey team never got into an offensive rhythm until it was too late as it fell to the Ladies of Kenyon College 6-1 on Thursday afternoon in Gambier.

Karin Yoshida scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season, but unfortunately it didn't come until the 59th minute.
Eloise Reid got credited with the assist on the play.
The Ladies (4-8, 4-4 NCAC) controlled the run of play throughout the first 35 minutes of action as they had an 18-3 advantage in shots and 4-0 lead on the scoreboard at the break.
In the second half, Oberlin (4-7, 2-6 NCAC) did get more aggressive on offense by triggering eight shots and earning six penalty corners.
Kiran Puri got the start in goal and made six saves in just over 44 minutes of work. Rookie
Carmen Azevedo played the final 25-plus minutes and also turned away six of Kenyon's scoring attempts.
All in all, Kenyon finished with a 33-11 margin in shots, but had just a slight 12-11 edge in corners.
Oberlin returns to action on Sunday afternoon at Wittenberg University.
