Series Information ...
Oberlin trails the all-time series against the Spartans 6-29… The Spartans have won 26 straight times against the Yeomen, with the last Oberlin win coming in 1982, when the Yeomen came out on top 17-6 … Last year was an offensive shootout, as both teams combined for 84 points and 905 yards of offense… Josh Mandel threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 102 yards plus a score.

Scouting the Spartans…
The 2011 Spartans are not as threatening as years past due to the graduation of the UAA's leading passer last year, Joey Baum… Junior Erik Olsen steps in as the starter this year and has thrown for 719 yards, including three touchdowns and one interception… Olsen's favorite target has emerged through their first four games in Bryan Metlesitz. The senior WR has 22 receptions for 260 yards (11.8 per catch) and two touchdowns… The Spartan defense is lead by their linebackers.  The top four tacklers on the team all rotate in at the Linebacker position… The top playmaker on the defense is defensive tackle Dale English, who is fifth on the team in total tackles but leads the Spartans with 11 tackles for a loss and four sacks.

Re-emerging Enright…
Senior tight end Danny Enright looks to re-insert himself as a focal point in the offense, just like he was in all of 2010. Last week he had five catches for a team-high 42 yards. Look for Mandel to target big number 85 to get the Yeomen offense going. Last year against the Spartans, Enright had five catches for 72 yards to lead the offense. Look for him to spark the offense this week.

Approaching 100…
Moses Richardson has never had a 100 yard rushing game, although he's come very close the last two weeks. He had 13 rushes for 94 yards against Hiram, and 21 rushes for 92 yards against Wittenberg. Saturday vs. the Spartans may be the day that he finally surpasses the century mark.

Career Milestone…
Starting quarterback Josh Mandel needs only 241 passing yards to reach the 2,000 mark for his career. He has thrown for over 241 once this year already (322 against Kenyon), so look for teammates and coaches to congratulate him this weekend if he is able to achieve this accomplishment.

Perfect 10…
Wide Receiver Adam Niec needs one more touchdown catch to have 10 in his career. The junior from Brecksville, Ohio, already has two this year through the first four games, and will look to continue adding to his already great career.

Finishing the Job…
The Yeomen have been in the Red-Zone 16 times this season, but have only come out with points in 11 of them. On a positive note, 10 of those 11 scores have been touchdowns. Last week vs. Wittenberg Oberlin came up empty in the red zone in the early part of the first quarter, and it seemed to change the momentum of the game. To beat a perennial powerhouse like Case has been the last 10 years, the Yeomen need to put points on the board when the opportunity arises.
