Hiram, Ohio –
Oberlin College belted out 27 hits and had 11 players record at least one hit in a doubleheader sweep of Hiram College on Saturday afternoon. The Yeomen took the lid-lifter 14-7 and followed with an 8-4 win in the nightcap.

Junior Ben Puterbaugh was simply scorching on the day as he went 7-of-8 with six runs scored and three RBIs in the twinbill. Senior Jack Dunn, who is best known for his work on the mound, also went 3-for-5 with three RBI's and two runs scored in the opener. All-in-all Oberlin had nine different players with at least two hits on the day.

In game one Oberlin (2-1, 2-0 NCAC) trailed 7-3 after three complete, but outstanding work out of the bullpen by Grady Campion and Phil Brua shutdown the Terriers the rest of the way. Campion got the win after allowing just one hit in his two innings of work.

The Yeomen manufactured a run in the fourth and Ben Kauder came through with a pinch-hit two-run single to make it a 7-6 Hiram lead in the fifth. In the sixth, however, OC used four hits combined with a costly Terriers' error to plate five runs before adding three more in seventh for good measure.

First-year Eric Knight guided the offense in game two as he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI's to help the Yeomen complete the sweep.

Junior Brandon Cantrill got the start on the bump and took home the win after working 4.2 innings. He surrendered eights, but just three runs and one walk while inducing nine groundball outs along the way.

Oberlin would take the lead for good in the top of third on Knight's two-run double, making the score 4-1 at that time. Back-to-Back doubles by freshmen Matt Fish and Robin Witjes led to another Yeomen run in the fourth and Knight's second two-RBI two-bagger of the game added two more in the fifth to effectively seal the win.

The two teams are scheduled to complete the conference series tomorrow afternoon with the first pitch of game one set for 1 p.m.
