Alma, Mich. – The Yeomen's shooting was as cold as the weather outside as they fell to Alma College 77-63 on Friday night.
The Yeomen, who matched Alma with 44 points in the second half, shot just 33.8 percent (22-of-65) in the loss. The 3-point woes for Oberlin also continued, evident by a 6-of-29 effort (20.7%) on the night.
Junior
Josh Merritt continued to impress with a game-high 21 points.
Andrew Fox and
Pat Bernhard also added 11 points apiece in the loss.
After going just 7-of-25 in the opening half, Oberlin found themselves down 33-19 at the break.
Oberlin (1-8) went down by as many as 24 in the second half, but continued to fight to get within 13, 69-56, with 2:27 left in the game.
The Scots (4-3) went 26-of-51 (51%) in the contest and knocked down an impressive 8-of-15 (53.3%) triple-tries. Alma also out-rebounded the Yeomen 51-24.
The Yeomen will return to action on December 28 at Division I Bryant University in Rhode Island.
