Emily Whitaker scored her second goal of the year for Oberlin.
Box Score

Richmond, Indiana –
Oberlin led for the first time this season, but the home Quakers scored last and more often to escape a well-played conference game with a 4-1 victory.

Oberlin got on the board first in the opening half on a goal by sophomore attacker Emily Whitaker. Whitaker's second goal of the season was assisted by junior standout Natasha Cohan.

For most of the first half, Oberlin controlled play and made several good pushes towards Earlham's cage. However, it was Earlham that was able to grab control at halftime with two first-half goals that negated Oberlin's early lead.

The second half belonged to the home squad, who scored twice more to finish with a three-goal advantage and ultimately a 4-1 win.

Head Coach Deb Ranieri said, “we were able to improve on the things that we worked on this week and that was really great to see…we had a couple of nice pushes, especially in the first frame, but we need to finish once we are in the circle.”

Scrappy junior Gillian Winbourn continued to mix it up as she led Oberlin with four shots on the day. Goalies Kiran Puri and Emily Bigelow registered five and nine saves, respectively as they split the duties in net.

Oberlin will head out on the road again this Wednesday as they travel to Kenyon for a 4:30 conference face-off.
