Granville, Ohio – The top-seeded Denison University Big Red defeated the Oberlin College women's basketball team 99-47 on Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Yeowomen, who entered the tournament as the No. 8 seed, had no answer for the Big Red, who completed the regular season a perfect 16-0 in conference play.

Syrea Thomas was the lone Yeowoman in double digits with 10 points. In the final game of her illustrious career, senior Alyssa Clark added nine points. Fellow senior January Baker also tallied four blocks and six rebounds to go along with four points.

Oberlin, which concludes the season with a 5-21 record, shot just 30.5-percent (18-of-59) – including a sub-par 2-of-13 (15.4%) effort from long range. Denison had 16 different players notch at least one point in the game while shooting 44.2-percent (34-of-77).

The Yeowomen hung around early as the game was tied at seven three minutes in, but Denison ripped off a 17-0 spurt and never looked back as they led 53-22 at the half.

The victors scored 29 points off of 18 Oberlin turnovers and had a 56-34 edge on the glass, which led to 22 second-chance points.

Seniors Mandi VanAllen and Kira Rivera joined Clark and Baker in their final game in the crimson and gold.
