Clark Sets Rebounding Record in Loss to Allegheny

Oberlin, Ohio – Alyssa Clark became Oberlin's all-time leading rebounder in the Yeowomen's 78-61 loss to Allegheny on Tuesday night.

Clark notched six boards to raise her career total to 720 - passing Dee Wells, who ripped down 719 rebounds between the 1990-91 and 1994-95 seasons. The senior from Cleveland, Ohio also led all scorers with 25 points in the game.

Fellow senior Kira Rivera dropped in a season-high 13 points, while sophomore Syrea Thomas added 11 for the Yeowomen.

The Gators (12-10, 8-5 NCAC) had five players in double figures with Jill Gregory guiding the attack with 18 points.

After scoring the first bucket of the game, Oberlin (5-17, 3-10 NCAC) would not lead the rest of the way and went into the half down 38-27.

In the second half, the Yeowomen got as close as 10 on two separate occasions, but never got within single digits.

January Baker added two rejections to lift her single-season blocks record to 53.

Oberlin shot 38.3-percent (23-of-60) on the night, while Allegheny connected on 52.5-percent (31-of-59) of its shots.

The Yeowomen will participate in the WBCA Pink Zone game on Saturday when they play host to Hiram College at 3 p.m. All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer research. The Oberlin athletics staff will also be accepting donations for the WBCA Kay Yow Breast Cancer Fund.
