Oberlin, Ohio –
Senior Alyssa Clark recorded her fifth double-double of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Oberlin College women's basketball fell to Ohio Wesleyan University 74-60 on Thursday night.

Clark finished with a game-high 25 points – 18 of which came in the second half – and tied a season-best with 12 boards. Junior Fran Holoman added a season-high nine points, while Syrea Thomas chipped in with eight – all coming in the first 20 minutes.

Ohio Wesleyan (10-8, 6-3 NCAC) was scorching hot from three-point-land on this night as they dialed-in on 12-of-26 (46.2%) triple-tries - which proved to be the ultimate separator in the game as Oberlin (3-15, 1-8 NCAC) made just 1-of-12 three-pointers.

After jumping out to a quick 6-1 lead, Oberlin fell victim to the Bishops three-point barrage for the rest of the half as they took a 36-20 cushion into the locker room.

However, The Yeowomen displayed great heart and fight throughout the night and actually outscored Ohio Wesleyan by a 40-38 margin in the second half. After falling behind by as many as 21 in the second session, Oberlin rallied back with a 9-0 spurt to get within 12, 64-52, with 2:22 left to play. During the closing moments, Oberlin got as close as 12 on two more occasions, but the Bishops were deadeye at the free throw line – going 8-of-8 over the final 48 seconds to secure the win.

Oberlin had a distinct advantage in the paint with 38 points compared to just 14 for the victors. OC also won the rebounding war 47-34 and had a 17-8 edge on bench points. However, OWU made 16-of-18 (88.9%) charity tosses, while the Yeowomen were just 7-of-10 (70%) at the stripe.

Oberlin will take to the road on Saturday afternoon as it is set to do battle at Earlham College at 1 p.m.
