Box Score
September 4 – For the second-straight game, the Oberlin College field hockey team out-shot their opponent by a large margin, but this time they didn't get the result they were looking for as Denison defeated the Yeowomen 2-0 on Thursday afternoon.
Oberlin fired off 32 shots compared to Denison's six, but it was Molly McCue's two first-half goals that proved to be the difference.
Emily Whitaker led the OC cavalry with nine shots, while first-year
Sarah Yeager triggered seven shots of her own.
Ariel Schuster and
Abigail Brox also registered six shots each.
It was the stellar goalkeeping of Denison's Kristie Hart that kept the OC offensive off of the board as she totaled 14 saves in her 70 minutes of work.
Through three games this season, the Oberlin offense has yet to get in rhythm as they have netted just four goals thus far.
The Yeowomen will look to jump-start the offense on Saturday when they play host to Washington & Jefferson at 1 p.m.
