April 13 – The Oberlin College men's golf team wrapped up their season-opening tournament with an 11th-place finish at the Strimer Memorial Invitational.

For the second-straight day, golfing conditions were far from pristine as the field had to deal with a wet track and on-and-off perception throughout the round. However, the Yeomen didn't seemed to be phased by the weather all that much as they shaved four strokes off of their day-one total, taking 357 swings on the day to finish the two-round event with 718 (361-357) strokes.

Matt Aucunas was Oberlin's top-finisher – ending in 32nd place with 164 (81-83) strokes.

The other four Yeomen were closely bunched on the scoreboard as Sam Zackheim reduced his opening-round score of 94 by four strokes on Sunday to finish tied for 65th with a total of 184 (94-90). Austin Richards ended just two shots back of Zackheim with 186 (90-96) total tallies on the weekend to place 67th.

D.J. Maynard showed drastic improvement on Sunday as he erased 10 strokes from his first-day total – carding in a 90 on the day to end tied for 68th with 190 (100-90) strokes. Saul Flores completed the Oberlin scorecard by matching Maynard's total of 190 (96-94) after posting a 94 on Sunday.

Ohio Wesleyan won the event by 14 strokes – taking 603 (299-304) swings as a team. Wittenberg placed second with a mark of 617 (312-305).

Oberlin will return to the links next weekend when it takes place in the Nye Intercollegiate, which will be hosted by the College of Wooster.
