Box Score

December 11 –
In a game that featured 10 lead changes and six ties, Ursuline College was able to outlast the Oberlin College women's basketball team 74-60 on Thursday night.

Oberlin was directed by Alyssa Clark's 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting – including an impressive 4-of-6 effort from downtown. Junior Alicia Smith also netted a season-high 13 points.

The Yeowomen (1-7) led 18-12 with 8:45 left in the first half, but the Arrows ripped off a 14-2 run over the next three minutes to grab a 26-20 edge, but Oberlin fought back to get within one, 29-28, before the buzzer.

A smith triple-hit to start he second session quickly put Oberlin back on top, but Ursuline responded with an offensive flurry to obtain its first double-digit lead, 57-47, at the 9:28 mark and went on to control the rest of the game.

Throughout the contest, the Yeowomen had no answer for Whitney Blackburn as she finished with a game-high 34 points. The astonishing part was that Blackburn hoisted 17 triple-tries, which accounted for all of her field goal attempts on the night. Unfortunately, for Oberlin she was on target on 11 of those 17 triggers.

Oberlin shot a season-best 41.2-percent (21-of-54) from the floor – including a season-high 46.2-percent (6-of-13) from beyond the arc. The victors finished at 39.7-percent (23-of-58) overall and 37.8-percent (14-of-37) from long distance.

The Yeowomen will now enjoy its holiday break before returning to the hardwood on January 3 at Kenyon College.
