December 10 – Kalamazoo College came out the locker room scorching hot and never looked back as it went on to beat the Oberlin College men's basketball team 73-46 on Wednesday afternoon.
First-year
Joe Dilworth was the lone bright spot for the Yeomen with a career-high 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting.
“We need to find away to get up and play from the opening tip,” head coach
Isaiah Cavaco said. “You can't fall behind like we did and except to come back and win the game.”
The Hornets controlled the opening half and led 40-14 at the break. OC (2-6) fought till the end and were bested by just one, 33-32, in the second half.
The Yeomen were plagued by 29 turnovers, which turned into 29 Kalamazoo points. Oberlin was also out-rebounded 44-25 – aiding the Hornets in recording 23 second-chance points.
Oberlin will look to closeout the 2008 calendar year on high note when it plays host to Alma on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
