November 25 – John Carroll University had three players score in double figures and the Oberlin offense was silent - allowing the Blue Streaks to cruise to a 94-39 win over the Yeowomen on Tuesday night.
Oberlin (0-3) was plagued by an off-shooting night as they connected on just 20.6-percent (13-of-63) of its shots – including an 0-for-10 performance from the beyond the arc. On the flip side, John Carroll netted 47-percent (31-of-66) its attempts – with an impressive 53.8-percent (7-of-13) effort from downtown.
Sophomore
Katie Thompson led Oberlin in scoring with nine points as she went a perfect 5-of-5 at the free throw line. Senior
Maggie Casey added eight points on 4-of-9 shooting. The Blue Streaks' Whitney Hamilton led all scorers with 24 points.
John Carroll (2-2), who never trailed in the game, built up a 22-5 lead half way through the opening session and never looked back as they went into the locker room with a 44-16 lead.
On a bright note for Oberlin, Mandi VanAllen tied a career-high with five rebounds in just 14 minutes of work.
The Yeowomen will look to get on track this Saturday when they travel to LaRoche for a 7 p.m. tilt.
