Ladies Outduel Oberlin

Box Score

Oct. 7 - The first goal and the last goal both went into the net behind Yeowomen standout goalkeeper Manya Lulek in a black and blue game fittingly played against the black and purple of Kenyon College. Making the trip down to Gambier, Oberlin was seeking revenge for Kenyon's hard fought 2-0 victory over Oberlin earlier this season.

The Ladies scored early and often as they totally shut down any semblance of an Oberlin offensive attack. The bright spot for Oberlin was another strong defensive effort, including 21 saves by Lulek. First-year Sarah Yeager and sophomore Natasha Cohen also helped the defensive effort each posting a defensive save.

On the offensive end first-year attacker Emily Whitaker has been in the mix on the offensive end in almost every game this year. Against Kenyon today she led the team in shots with four, but Oberlin could only force Kenyon's keeper to make three saves in the game.

Seven different players scored for Kenyon as they cruised to a 9-0 victory. This marked the sixth shutout the Yeowomen have been involved in this season and unfortunately they have not seen the other side since their 1-0 victory over Transylvania. Oberlin will be back in action this Saturday when they host Wittenberg at 2:00 pm.
