Cross Country Completes All-Ohio Meet

The Oberlin College women's cross country team placed fourth in Division III, while the men checked in seventh overall amongst Division III schools at the All-Ohio meet on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Joanna Johnson continued to display her dominance as she was the top DIII finisher with a time of 18:31.1. Overall she finished ninth in the race, which consisted of elite athletes from across state regardless of division.

Senior Nicky Ouellet also had a strong race for the Yeowomen, checking in at 19:39.3, good for ninth best amongst her DIII peers.

The Yeowomen, who are ranked No. 29 in the nation, scored 141 points as a team to place 14th overall. Case Western Reserve was the highest-finishing DIII school with 35 points, placing ninth overall.

The men's team finished seventh amongst DIII teams with 174 points. Senior Conor Doss led the way by covering the 8k terrain in 27:26.2 to place 27th against DIII foes. Fellow senior Everett Schlawin was close behind at 27:37.1 to end 33rd.

Ryan King checked in at 27:42.9 to finish 35th, while Albert Davila was right on his heels at 27:46.2 to earn a 37th-place finish.

Overall, the men ended 18th in the 42-team field.

Oberlin will be right back to work next weekend when it plays host to the Inter-regional Rumble at that its newly constructed cross country course.
