Summary

Biography

A member of the North Coast Athletic Conference 40th Anniversary All-Decade team for both indoor and outdoor track and field, Lilah Drafts-Johnson is the greatest sprinter in the history of Oberlin College. 

The 2018 national champion in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles with a school record time of 59.34, Drafts-Johnson was The 2017 and 2018 NCAC Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the Year for both indoors and outdoors. A four-time United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-American, she also graduated as a nine-time NCAC champion and 25-time All-NCAC performer. 

A native of Melrose, Massachusetts, who also served as team captain, Drafts-Johnson was an active member of the College community who worked as a trainer for Oberlin’s sexualized violence prevention program (PRSM) in addition to volunteering as a student instructor for the Spanish teaching program (SITES) at Eastwood Elementary.

A 2018 graduate with degrees in Latin American Studies and politics, she later earned a master’s degree in physical cultural studies and kinesiology from the University of Maryland in 2023. 

After working with Major League Baseball between 2019-2021 on their domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy, Lilah continues to develop and facilitate workshops on topics like healthy relationships, consent, and mental health for diverse populations throughout the sports industry through her role as a consultant with Elevate Impact.
