Summary

Biography

The 2022 NCAC/John N. Stern Scholar-Athlete Award winner, Kofi Asare was a six-time All-NCAC selection and two-time North Coast Athletic Conference champion, winning the indoor triple jump in 2020 and 2022, which includes a school-record performance of 46-06.25 (14.18m) at the 2022 championships.

In addition to serving as team captain, Asare was active on campus as a Peer Advising Leader, Peer Mentor, and Student Senator. Additionally, he was co-chair of the Black Student-Athlete Group (BSAG) and was active in the African Students' Association while also conducting research in Prof. Mary Garvin's biology lab.

A 2022 graduate with a degree in biology and minor in Africana Studies, he is currently a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine. In addition, he has the privilege of serving as the Class of 2022 representative on Oberlin's Board of Trustees.
